OUR NURSE PRACTITIONER

Pediatric Nurse Practitioners are Master-level prepared nurses with advanced training in pediatrics. They provide nursing care to infants, children and adolescents. Pediatric Nurse Practitioners are certified for the following:
- Conducting sick visits and well child exams.
- Assessing, diagnosing, and treating children from birth to 21 years of age.
- Ordering diagnostic tests, labs, x-rays, and treatments.
- Prescribing medication and treatments.
- Making referrals to other health care specialists.
- Long term care of children with chronic illnesses like asthma and diabetes.

Frannie Garner, APRN, MSN, G-PNP . |
Frannie is from Shreveport, Louisiana where she received her Bachelor's Degree in nursing from Northwestern State University. From there, she worked in pediatrics as a nurse at LSU hospital in Shreveport. She then moved to Dallas and continued to work as a RN at the Texas Scottish Rite Children's Hospital. She graduated from the University of Texas-Arlington with a Master's Degree in Pediatric Nursing. Frannie joined Willow Bend Pediatrics in September 2008. Her professional interests include adolescent health and childhood mental health. She lives in The Colony, TX where she spends time with her friends and loved ones, which includes her dog Pico.
