For a life threatening EMERGENCY, call 911.

 

For answers to routine or NON-URGENT questions, please contact the office during regular office hours. This will allow us access to your child's medical records and allow us to render better care. 

For medication DOSAGE INFORMATION after hours, please contact your 24-hour pharmacy or insurance nurse line.

For URGENT questions that cannot wait until the following business day, we have a nurse triage system available to you after hours.  The phone calls after hours will be answered by licensed pediatric nurses who will provide guidance on evaluation and/or treatment of patients.  Each patient will be billed $5 per phone call to offset the cost of this service.

Some after hours questions you have may be answered by calling the nurse information line provided by your health insurance.  This is usually provided at no cost to patients.

 

 

Local after hours urgent care centers for children:

 

The following is a list of urgent care centers for children often utilized by our patients for concerns that need to be evaluated outside of our routine office hours. We feel that it is best for children, especially young children and infants, to be evaluated by physicians accustomed to seeing children.  These urgent care centers are staffed by pediatricians, physicians who are trained in the care of children.

Children's Medical Center Referral Care Center
NOTE: In order for your child to be seen at the Children's Medical Center Referral Care Center, your physician must call the center and make a referral for the child to be seen.

Children's is about three miles north of downtown Dallas, near Interstate 35E, at Motor Street and Medical Center Drive.

Directions for parking and entrance:
Park in the Blue Garage adjacent to the Bright Building (across the street from Children's). The Referral Care Center is on the first floor of the Bright Building. Follow the bluebonnet signs down the hall to the center.
